  • Daniel Bekerman

    Co-Founder & Producer

    He/Him

    Daniel Bekerman, founder and president of Scythia Films, is one of Canada’s most prolific feature film producers with broad experience in creative producing, financing, international co-productions, and service productions.

    Daniel’s upcoming projects include THE APPRENTICE starring Sebastian Stan, Jeremy Strong, and Maria Bakalova, directed by Cannes winner Ali Abassi, and I, OBJECT directed by Oscar nominee Andrew Niccol, starring Anna Faris and Karl Urban.

    Recent credits include COLD COPY starring Bel Powley and Tracee Ellis Ross, which premiered at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival, and SLASHBACK which had its premiere in March 2022 at SXSW. Scythia also produced THE FRIENDSHIP GAME, starring Peyton List from Netflix’s COBRA KAI. Additional credits include FALLING, Viggo Mortensen’s directorial debut, a UK/Canada Treaty Co-Production, which celebrated its World Premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2020 and was an Official Selection at the 73rd Edition of the Cannes Film Festival as well as TIFF; and the A24 hit THE WITCH, winner of the U.S. Dramatic Directing Award at the Sundance Film Festival.

  • Chris Yurkovich

    Chris Yurkovich is a TransFemme producer based in Toronto. Chris takes pride in every project that she tackles, she enjoys pushing her talents and those of the people around her. She is the co-founder of Stellar Citizens and it was there that she started to focus on finding “Stellar scripts that lead to stellar productions.”

    During her time at Stellar Citizens she oversaw content development and creative producing as Head of Development. In 2017 she began working in the narrative film space where she executive produced the Imaginative People's Choice Award winner KAYAK TO KLEMTU alongside Scythia Films. Recently, Chris produced SLASH/BACK which premiered at SXSW in 2022 and is currently executive producing INEDIA by director Liz Cairns starring Amy Forsyth, set for a 2023 release.

  • Jordan Hart

    Producer & VP Development

    She/Her

    Jordan Hart is a producer and executive in Los Angeles where she shepherds a diverse slate of features and series through development and production. Next up is I OBJECT, directed by Andrew Niccol and starring Anna Faris and Karl Urban.

    Prior to joining the team, she served as Director of Development for the Oscar-, Emmy-, and BAFTA-winning Little Monster Films. While there, she developed ANGEL CITY for HBO, RETURN TO SPACE for Netflix, PHOTOGRAPHER and EDGE OF THE UNKNOWN WITH JIMMY CHIN for NatGeo and served as an Associate Producer on the film WILD LIFE, which premiered at Telluride and can be found streaming on Disney+.

    At Baltimore Pictures, led by Oscar-winning director Barry Levinson, Jordan worked on features including PATERNO for HBO and THE SURVIVOR, which premiered at TIFF in 2021 and was released by HBO. She began her career supporting hit showrunner DJ Nash on the comedy series GROWING UP FISHER and TRUTH BE TOLD, both on NBC.

    Jordan received her Bachelor's from The University of Virginia and her Master's from Boston University. She is a former Film Independent fellow and the recipient of a 2023 NAACP Image Award.

  • Christina Wood

    Christina is a Canadian producer based in Los Angeles & London. She works across development, legal & business affairs at Scythia Films & Good Question Media.

    Christina worked on several features as Associate Producer that saw 2023 festival premieres including; The Dead Don’t Hurt [TIFF 2023] (dir. Viggo Mortensen, starring Vicky Krieps), Close to You [TIFF 2023](dir. Dominic Savage, starring Elliot Page) as well as upcoming Longing (dir. Savi Gabizon, starring Richard Gere and Diane Kruger).

    She also served as a Business Affairs Associate on Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla [Venice 2023] , Susanna Fogel’s Winner [Sundace 2024] and Megan Park’s My Old Ass [Sundance 2024].

    Prior to her move to Los Angeles in 2022, Christina worked in Toronto, New York City and London. She began her career in distribution working for Entertainment One UK on release campaigns for Academy Award and BAFTA-winning titles including Spotlight and I, Daniel Blake.

    Christina holds a BA from McGill University and an MFA from Columbia University and is a BAFTA Connect Member. She is passionate about enabling international voices in film & TV.
